fyi, 58 is the new 38. the summer of opportunity is almost halfway over. i hope you are out there taking advantage, people, because opportunities arise EVERY DAY!
My sister, who I suppose is on some sort of daily devotional email list, often sends out a thought or prayer du jour.
I thought this one might be appropriate to the Summer of Opportunity (not that Jobyl is afraid of anything, but maybe the rest of us have a small yet deeply seated bit of apprehension):
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine . . . And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

and that, friends, is called raising the playing field. somebody's got to do it. and us powerful, light-bearing, superlative folks have to feed the masses and drag them up here to a higher plane.
